ChatGPT is powerful but not always smart
ChatGPT is one of the most powerful LLMs (large language models) ever designed in human history. However, one should not mistake its powerful and mind-boggling processing capacity with smartness.
It must be born in mind that ChatGPT, despite its mystifying capabilities, in essence, is a language processor. This means that the core strength of ChatPPT is text, even though it can engage other file formats such as Excell, audio, PDF etc, and often admirably so.
In certain respects, ChatGPT lacks common sense and smartness. For example, it might happen that you provide ChatGPT with your relevant vehicle details (such as vin number and engine number) and pose questions around a particular vehicle part. ChatGPT might revert with an answer that you need to use the vin number to check on the official websites the said information of a particular part. You need to prompt ChatGPT to conduct the research itself and revert to you with an answer. And then all of a sudden, you will get the answer.
Also, as another example, if you ask it a question about a Youtube video, it might revert with a response that it cannot watch the video to answer your question. ChatGPT will not out of its own accord consult the Youtube transcript for the answer. It must be prompted to do so. This means, you have to prompt ChatGPT to consult the Youtube transcript to answer your question. Only then it will answer your question.
ChatGPT is powerful, but its common sense element still requires major refinement.
